ABOUT DR. LISA SEMPLE
Dr. Lisa Semple is a board-certified OB/GYN and Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine with nearly three decades of experience dedicated to women’s health, preventive medicine, and complex chronic conditions. Following 29 years in traditional obstetrics and gynecology, she expanded her practice into personalized and functional medicine with a mission to better understand and address the root causes of disease rather than simply manage symptoms.
Throughout her career, Dr. Semple has held leadership and physician roles across multiple health systems, including serving as Site Director for Obstetrics Hospitalist Group, Co-Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UPMC Chautauqua, Chief of Surgery in Lancaster, South Carolina, and Medical Director of Robotics and Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at UPMC Hamot. She has also served on ethics, quality review, and physician leadership committees throughout her career.
Dr. Semple completed advanced training through the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine and continues her education through the Personalized Medicine Certification program at University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. Her clinical focus includes hormone optimization, autoimmune conditions, chronic inflammation, metabolic dysfunction, toxin-related illness, and precision strategies that support whole-person wellness.
As a Medical Physician at MDLifespan, Dr. Semple is helping advance a new model of patient care that integrates traditional medicine with innovative therapies such as Advanced Serial Therapeutic Plasma Exchange. She is particularly interested in researching the effects of environmental toxins and metabolic drivers on women’s health conditions that have historically been difficult to treat, including PCOS, infertility, and hormonal imbalance.
Dr. Semple brings a rare perspective shaped by decades of frontline clinical care and a forward-thinking commitment to innovation. Her work is centered on helping patients uncover hidden contributors to illness, restore balance, and achieve lasting improvements in vitality and health.
