New Jersey Physicians Invited to Clinical Discussion on Environmental Toxins, Inflammation, and Advanced Therapeutic Plasma Exchange

RAMSEY, N.J. — MDLifespan and Town & Country Compounding Pharmacy invited physicians across New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, and the surrounding Tri-State region to a complimentary educational webinar examining environmental toxin exposure, chronic inflammation, and Advanced Serial Therapeutic Plasma Exchange (TPE).

The virtual physician-focused event took place on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 12:00 PM EST and featured Dr. Paul Savage, Founder and Chief Medical Officer of MDLifespan.

The discussion was designed to provide healthcare professionals with an educational overview of environmental toxin burden, biomarker evaluation, and Advanced Therapeutic Plasma Exchange, including potential considerations for physician referral and collaboration.

The webinar took place against a backdrop of increasing attention to environmental health issues throughout New Jersey and the broader Tri-State region.

In April 2026, state health officials confirmed an investigation into a potential cancer cluster in Keyport, New Jersey, following concerns raised by residents about cancer cases in an area near the former Aeromarine Industrial Park landfill. State agencies began examining the reported cases and environmental conditions; no causal relationship between the reported cancer cases and the site had been established at the time of the investigation.

The situation renewed attention to New Jersey’s long history of industrial contamination, chemical manufacturing, environmental remediation, and drinking-water concerns.

PFAS, often referred to as “forever chemicals,” have also become an important environmental health issue. New Jersey has established drinking-water standards for several PFAS compounds, including PFOA, PFOS, and PFNA.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency continues to study PFAS exposure, environmental persistence, and potential human health effects. Current EPA information notes that people may encounter PFAS through contaminated water, food, soil, air, and consumer products, while research continues to evaluate health effects associated with different PFAS compounds and exposure levels.

For many healthcare providers, environmental exposures are no longer viewed solely as public policy or environmental issues.

Patients increasingly ask physicians about potential relationships between environmental exposures, inflammation, immune health, cardiovascular health, cognitive health, and other chronic health concerns.

As awareness grows, physicians may also seek educational resources that help them evaluate questions about environmental exposures, biomarkers, and emerging approaches to patient care.
