HOUSTON — April 30, 2025 — MDLifespan, a physician-led organization focused on Advanced Serial Therapeutic Plasma Exchange (TPE), announced the opening of its newest Houston-area location inside Magnolia Pharmacy at 18230 FM 1488, Suite 100, Magnolia, TX 77354.
The opening marked MDLifespan’s third location in its planned 2025 nationwide expansion, bringing its therapeutic plasma exchange approach to patients and practitioners in the Houston and Greater Houston area.
The Magnolia location introduced local patients and practitioners to MDLifespan’s Advanced TPE program, the terminology used in the original 2025 announcement for its personalized therapeutic plasma exchange approach.
Advanced Serial TPE Comes to Houston
The new MDLifespan Houston location in Magnolia was designed to provide Greater Houston-area patients with access to physician-led therapeutic plasma exchange and personalized Advanced TPE protocols.
The location is situated at 18230 FM 1488, Suite 100, Magnolia, Texas, and is positioned to serve patients in Magnolia, Houston, The Woodlands, Spring, and surrounding communities. MDLifespan’s current Houston location continues to identify Magnolia as its Houston-area TPE center.
“Advanced TPE is the future of personalized and functional medicine,” said Dr. Steven Hoffart, Pharm.D, founder of Magnolia Pharmacy. “I’m excited to bring this technology to our Houston community as a powerful tool for inflammation reduction, detox, immune support, and even maternal and cognitive health.”
Why Environmental Toxins Are Part of the Houston Health Conversation
Houston and surrounding communities face a range of environmental exposures associated with urban, industrial, and consumer environments. These include air pollutants, PFAS, pesticides, toxic metals, and other substances that continue to be studied for their potential effects on human health.
Research into environmental exposures is also examining how certain contaminants may interact with inflammatory, metabolic, immune, and other biological processes.
MDLifespan’s Advanced Serial Therapeutic Plasma Exchange approach is designed around the evaluation and reduction of circulating substances in plasma, alongside biomarker testing and individualized physician-guided protocols.
“Houston residents face growing toxic exposure,” said Dr. Paul Savage, founder and CEO of MDLifespan. “Our partnership with Magnolia Pharmacy brings access to a transformative health technology that empowers patients to reclaim their health from the inside out.”
What Is Advanced Therapeutic Plasma Exchange?
Therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) is an established medical procedure in which plasma is separated from blood components and replaced with an appropriate replacement fluid.
MDLifespan’s current terminology for its physician-led approach is Advanced Serial Therapeutic Plasma Exchange. The protocols combine TPE with individualized diagnostics, biomarker evaluation, and additional supportive strategies based on patient-specific goals.
The original 2025 announcement referred to this approach as PlasmaXchange.
The procedure is performed under physician oversight, with the specific approach determined according to an individual’s clinical history, health goals, laboratory data, and physician recommendations.
Advanced TPE Protocols Available at the Houston Location
At the time of the 2025 announcement, MDLifespan offered a suite of personalized protocols addressing different health and wellness goals, including:
- MDL Brain — Cognitive health and brain-related wellness goals
- MDL Heart — Cardiovascular health and inflammatory burden

- MDL Baby — Preconception and prenatal wellness goals
- MDL Anti-Cancer — Health goals related to cancer risk and systemic inflammation
