PlasmaXchange
Personalized Therapeutic Plasma Exchange (Plasmapheresis)
Certain diseases and environments cause inflammatory proteins, chronic infections, and other toxins to build up in every part of the body and bloodstream. Personalized therapeutic plasma exchange (or plasmapheresis) offers an effective and safe way to help the body eliminate harmful contaminants and strengthen the immune system.

Plasma Exchange Removes Harmful Substances from Your Body
Therapeutic plasma exchange is a medical procedure that filters out contaminated plasma from the body then combines healthy blood with a new customized saline-albumin-vitamin combination plasma solution. This process gets rid of harmful substances such as autoimmune complexes, toxins, and inflammatory mediators, and helps to reset immune system activity and reduce symptoms caused by diseases.
Plasma exchange helps remove these harmful substances:
- Environmental Toxins: Heavy metals (e.g., Lead, Mercury), Mycotoxins (mold toxins), PFAs, and Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) like PCBs, which bind to plasma proteins.
- Alloantibodies: Antibodies produced against foreign antigens, often relevant in transplant rejection or blood incompatibility.
- Immune Complexes (Antigen-Antibody Complexes): Clumps of antigens and antibodies that can circulate and deposit in organs, causing inflammation and damage (e.g., in Vasculitis, Lupus Nephritis).
- Immunoglobulin Paraproteins (M-proteins): Abnormal, monoclonal proteins (like IgG or IgM) produced in diseases such as Multiple Myeloma or Waldenström’s Macroglobulinemia, which can cause hyperviscosity (thick blood).
- Cryoglobulins: Immunoglobulins that clump together at low temperatures, causing vascular issues (e.g., Cryoglobulinemia).
- Inflammatory Cytokines/Mediators: Proteins that drive systemic inflammation.
By removing the contaminated plasma, TPE lowers the concentration of these harmful components in the body, naturally strengthens the immune system, and alleviates the symptoms of various disorders.

Our Customized Approach to Plasma Exchange
We developed a patent pending TPE procedure that can be more effective than traditional plasma exchange.
Personalized Plan
PlasmaXchange adds advanced diagnostics, tracks toxin levels & biomarker changes, and uses those results to personalize the plasma exchange plan.
Multi-modal Program
Beyond TPE, PlasmaXchange bundles IV nutrient therapy after each session, daily protein-powder supplementation, and lifestyle guidance to prevent re-toxification.
Specialized Physicians
Our physicians specialize in TPE and use their focused experience to design highly individualized plans that account for complex conditions and maximize the removal of disease-causing substances.

About Dr. Paul Savage
Dr. Paul Savage is a seasoned ER and trauma physician who transformed his career by embracing the health and wellness field of medicine. At 36, he faced a personal health crisis while working at one of the world’s largest trauma centers. Severely overweight, smoking, pre-diabetic, and chronically stressed, he realized that traditional medicine alone could not provide the answers he needed.
His relentless curiosity led him to explore hormonal therapies, integrative treatments, and lifestyle interventions that ultimately transformed his health. This personal evolution inspired him to challenge traditional healthcare practices and create companies and technologies that empower patients to take control of their well-being.
Dr. Savage founded MDLifespan to pioneer advanced methods of strengthening immune systems and removing contaminants from the body. He developed the patent-pending PlasmaXchange™ TPE protocols to address contaminants in the body by combining therapeutic plasma exchange with patient education, advanced diagnostics, and personalized therapies.
